Retired Canadian Public Servant and former university lecturer, specializing in strategic and national security issues especially those related to the Arab World in the Middle East and North Africa. He has also pursued a parallel career in aviation management in Canada, the USA and overseas. He is a published writer in both fields. Mr. Eltaher has lived and worked in Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco, the USA, the Caribbean and Europe. He has lived in Canada since 1981.
Mr. Eltaher has earned a B.A. in Political Studies and International Relations (Dean’s Honour List) from the American University of Beirut, and an MBA in Aviation Management (With Distinction) from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in the USA. He is fluent in English, French and Arabic beside German and Italian.
